My baby girl is called Alfie (was told she was a he at first then the vet told me) but she knows her name so i didn't wanna change it.
She's 19 months and is a Syrian, she has a huge habitrail cage which takes up two shelves, (4 cages and lots of tubing). She has a huge ball to trek round in as she had a thing for running so fast she'd crack the smaller ones and i'd have to replace bout every 3 months. Also bought her an indoor/outdoor play pen which she loves =) soon to be gettin a harness. She's an amazing and well trained little girl, doesn't bite and loves cuddles.

Hi - this is Debbie. This is my first time on a web forum and I have no idea how it works - this is my third attempt at a message and I am worried i have accidentally posted the first two but don't know how to see them!! Apologies if this is the case.

Anyway - my hamster is a syrian called voegels. very cute. I wrote a long description on my first post but I have now run out of energy!

Can someone let me know where I can go to ask questions specific to my hamster? He keeps biting the door to my living room and chatters his teeth when i get him to stop and also I think he is cold (pushes all the wood shavings up to his bedding during the day), but I can't leave the central heating on all day whilst I am at work and I don't know what to do - don't want him to be cold!!!

Hi Debbie,

My hamster also does the same thing with the sawdust and she does have a cold. All i do is put more sawdust into her cage with more bedding. I also put newspaper under the sawdust so it gives her something to do by ripping it up and using as bedding.

If you think he's getting a cold you can give him some warm milk, just in a bottle cap, they love it and it helps warm them up.

Thanks - I will bundle in some more bedding! I have a new cage coming with a house so maybe that will keep him warm in the winter.
