In preparing for my first hamster, I've read that you should wash your hands every time before handling your hamster, so your hamster will know you because your scent will be the same, and so you will not confuse it into biting you. Ex: Having the scent of food or a someone your hamster does not know on your hand. My question is does it matter if you use specially scented soap, such as lavender, or use soap that just smells...soapy! Like Zest or something.

I alwyas wah my hold before I hold my hamster... I use Lavender hand soap and somtimes lime handsoap my hamster doesnt care :zzz
