If you put pellets in the dish and mix thru out the cage, won't the hamster get bored with the pellets being in the boring dish and totally ignore them in favor of the yummy and fun to find mix? Why not put the yummy mix in the boring dish, and scatter the pellets for them to find? it seems like that would make them more likely to eat both.

Actually giving pellets is not a bad idea as long as they eat them, they're fine that's what i do and it's also good that you scatter them all over the cage, well they're gonna hoard them away in the nest sooner or later. hehe
