my hammie has the store brought hamster mix, i used to fill her bowle and give her fresh every time i cleaned her out, she would sit over her bowle and eat like she was at a table! but now i put a tiny amount in her bowle to keep it fresh EVERY day and shes ok with it, i always sprinkle treats and food in her shavings when i clean her out
