Hello! I just bought a pair of Syrian hamster and would like to mate them. I've been keeping hamsters as pets for more than 4 years and I have breed my previous hamsters successfully. However, I don't know if my previous hamsters were syrian too and I understand that hamster pups would be eaten by hamsters other than their mother.    What I'd like to ask is, will my hamster (the mother) eat her own babies? What should I do to prevent the mother from being a cannibal?    Thank you.
